WELCOME TO THE SAGUENAY–ST. LAWRENCE MARINE PARK
Located between the fresh water of the fjord and the salt water of the river, the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park is a marine protected area that covers 1,245 km² in the St. Lawrence Estuary and the Saguenay River. More than 2,200 species frequent these waters, including species at risk such as the beluga whale, the blue whale and the Barrow’s goldeneye.

The experience at sea
It is such a pleasure to hear a whale’s spout and to see the animal appear on the water’s surface! Whether you’re looking for adventure or a gentle outing, you’ll be delighted, as each sea trip is unique. From May to October, the chances of seeing whales are very good. More than a dozen species of marine mammals visit the area each summer.

YOU ARE PLANNING A SPECIAL ACTIVITY AT THE MARINE PARK?
You have to submit a permit application in order to have your activity authorized at the marine park. Any sporting event, parade, show, filming of all kinds, using an unmanned drone, scientific research project, commercial excursion ( by kayak or boat): all must obtain a permit prior to their arrival.
