Duties :

The position holder works in the Visitor Experience team. He/she participates in the planning and development of interpretive programs and activities to offer visitors opportunities to discover and appreciate the sites administered by Parks Canada bordering the Saguenay─St. Lawrence Marine Park. In addition, he helps welcome visitors and may lead certain activities or guided tours. In addition to providing services to visitors, the person has supervisory responsibilities: he/she participates in the training and supervision of guide-interpreters as well as visitor services and cleaning staff, in addition to overseeing occupational health and safety and team cohesion.

Work environment

Parks Canada Agency is a federal agency responsible for protecting and presenting Canada’s outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of the country.
The Saguenay–St. Lawrence Field Unit is responsible for co-managing the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park, located on the shores of the Saguenay Fjord.

Intent of the process

The process is designed to create a pool of qualified candidates for future fixed-term or indeterminate offers for Saguenay-St-Lawrence Marine Park (Tadoussac). This process could also be used to create a list of qualified candidates to fill similar positions with different employee statuses, security levels or language requirements in the same locations or across the country.

Degree equivalency

Experience in providing services to the public, such as events and interpretation, education, communication or training activities for a variety of audiences?

  • Experience in staff supervision
  • Experience in planning daily activities for visitors.

• Wear a Parks Canada uniform and abide uniform policy.
• Be exposed to variable weather conditions when moving between facilities and working outdoors.
