Duration of employment: Flexible, between early June and mid-August

Type of job: Full time (40 hours per week)

Work schedule: Weekday daytime hours, with the possibility of some weekend work

Salary: Hourly rate ranging from $18.69 to $25.17, depending on educational background

Job Description

The student will assist maintenance staff in carrying out their duties. He or she must be able to support the staff with a variety of tasks, such as carpentry, painting, mechanics, and grounds maintenance. Do you enjoy hands-on work and breathtaking scenery? We’re waiting for you!

Working Environment

Parks Canada is a federal agency responsible for protecting and presenting Canada’s exceptional natural and cultural resources by managing a network of national parks, national marine conservation areas, and national historic sites across the country. The Saguenay–St. Lawrence Field Unit is responsible for the co-management of the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park, located along the Saguenay Fjord.

Requirements:

  • Be studying full-time or part-time in the winter of 2026 in a college or university level program or return to studies full-time or part-time in the fall of 2026 in a college or university level program.
  • Reside in Canada and be authorized by law to work there.

Assets

Employment Requirements

  • Fluency in French
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Must obtain a Government of Canada security clearance

  • Work on varied terrain and in changing weather conditions.
  • Be physically fit for field work.
